We are Talos, crafting visual narratives at the intersection of art, data and schizophrenic disorders

Reframing the conversation

Throughout history, creativity and schizophrenic disorders have often coexisted.

Voices & perspectives

Timeline of the development of antipshychotic drugs

    Conventional antipsychotics

The first generation of antipsychotic drugs were initially called "major tranquilizers" for their sedative and calming effects, or "neuroleptics" for their side effects related to movement – such as spasms, stiffness and tremors.

    Atypical antipsychotics

Introduced from the 1990s onwards, atypical antipsychotics are less likely to cause movement-related side effects. They act on a broader range of brain receptors and expanded treatment options for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and related conditions.
